Mickiah Allbee, a multi-sport athlete from Vestaburg, made a significant impact as a distance runner for the Wolverines, leading her team to new heights. Her cross country career was marked by consistent excellence from the very start. She was named all-conference all four years. As a freshman, she finished second on her team at regionals, helping to lead the Wolverines to their first state finals qualification in school history. She went on to qualify for the MHSAA Division 4 state finals three times.
Her success continued on the track, where she excelled as a middle-distance runner, relay contributor, and long jumper. She qualified for the state finals multiple times in the 400-meters (three times), the 4x800 relay (twice), the 4x400 relay, and the long jump. Mickiah proudly holds two All-State awards in the 400-meters and was a regional champion in the long jump. She also holds 18 All-Region distinctions between cross country and track. While she specialized in track and cross country, Mickiah was also a basketball player for the Wolverines. On top of her athletic accomplishments, she was named Academic All-State nine times throughout her high school career. She credits her success to her consistency and her ability to push through in tough races.
At MCC, Mickiah is pursuing a nursing degree. She was drawn to the college for its financial practicality and proximity to her friends, with the added bonus of continuing her running career. She's already found a new family in her team, enjoying the jovial and supportive atmosphere they share.
